FIFA 12 Ultimate Team

This is my favourite part of Fifa 12. Ultimate Team is like a whole new game inside the bigger game, it is all about making a team which you wish to have like your dream team. It has existed since Fifa 10 and has been a big success because a lot of people love it. There is a lot features in Ultimate team, some of them can be hard to get used to. Ultimate team is for people who like to build things to get them better and manage what happens not just on the pitch but off the pitch as well. The main target or aspect of Ultimate Team is to build from a not so good team to having an amazing team. The way people do this is through in game coins, these are earned by playing games and selling players. You are never going to get a better team unless you gain coins so anyone who does not have any patience will not like Ultimate Team. First of all you begin by Naming your team and opening your started pack. The starter pack has players in it who are in the form of cards, so when you open your pack you get cards and there are 3 levels of card Bronze, Silver and Gold as you can probably tell Bronze is the worst; silver is in the middle and gold is the best. In your starter pack you will get around 15 Bronze players and a Bronze manager. From there you can either play games to earn coins or if you wish to spend Real life money on Ultimate Team you buy packs. You can but packs with either money from your credit card on the PlayStation or use money in the form of Microsoft Points on the Xbox. Like the cards there are 3 levels of packs, bronze, silver and gold, bronze packs containing bronze cards, silver packs containing silver cards and of course gold packs containing gold cards. You buy the packs then you receive the contents of the pack and you get to keep everything if you wish to or you can sell the cards you get for in game coins to other players. It is not as easy as it sounds though because it is not just player or manager cards you get, you also get contract cards which are used on your players so they can play more games for you, there are healing cards which are used for healing players if they are injured, there are fitness/morale cards which will increase a players fitness therefore making is energy and stamina better, the morale cards will of course increase their morale, there is formation/position cards which change a players preferred formation or position therefore making him play better in the formation that you play or the position in which you wish to put that player and there is staff cards which, if you have in your club, will increase the players abilities on the pitch. There are 2 types of packs you may buy, normal packs or premium ones; the normal pack contains twelve cards with around 4 players and the rest being other cards like the ones mentioned above. The premium pack contains 24 cards with around 6, 7 or 8 players in them with the rest being the other cards. The packs also contain rare shiny cards which are worth more than normal and will sell for a higher price or will be better players. It is up to you if you want to keep the items that you receive in a pack or if you wish to sell them to get more coins. Obviously better players and cards are worth more coins which is why you must work to get a better team. The process of buying players is worked by a bidding system, people who wish to sell cards will put them up on the market with a starting price and other players who want the card will bid on that card, obviously the person with the highest bid will win and will get that card for their team. They can also place a “Buy Now” price on the card if they wish to which means other people can buy the card straight away instead of bidding. Players can also put trade offers up for the person selling the card to either accept or decline, which allows people to not just buy the cards with coins but to trade them with other cards. As you are playing games your players’ fitness will decrease along with their contract which is cut up into how many games they can play. Their morale will either go up or down depending on the results of the games you play. You can play tournaments or single matches, single player or multiplayer it is up to you although you do earn more coins for multiplayer matches. Your stats are also kept track of. You can build more than one team as well, people like to build specific teams such Premier league teams which consists of only players who play in the Premiere league or they can build national teams as well if the wish. Personally I have a Serie A team and a Scottish team. Chemistry in your team is a big feature as well because it means the players will play better together if they have good chemistry players who have good chemistry will be players who are from the same country, or play for the same team or play in the same league. Players who don’t have chemistry are not linked in any way because they don’t have anything in common through football/country. The sense of Achievement and pride once you have your team that you were after is great because you have accomplished your goal.
My Scottish team consists of Steven Naismith, David Goodwillie, Scott Brown, Darren Fletcher, Charlie Adam, Alan McGregor, Alan Hutton, Steve Caldwell, Gary Caldwell, Lee Wallace and Steven Fletcher. Although it isn’t complete yet.

My Serie A team consists of Alexandre Pato, Antonio Di Natale, Krasic, Lavezzi, Robinho, Julio Cesar, Maicon, Lucio, Walter Samuel, Taiwo, Cambiasso and a lot of good players on my Sub bench and reserves. It is one of the best Serie A teams possible apart from one or two players who cost a lot of coins.

Personally I think that Ultimate Team is the best Part of Fifa 12 and I hope that EA continue it in the next Fifa games to come.

Thanks for Reading
